Monahan Drabble Sherman Funeral Home which has handled the funeral arrangements of many of Rhode Island’s most wealthy and influential over the decades has sold its building to a developer.
The history of the funeral home goes back over 140 years. The business will be selling its location in the victorian home on the corner of Waterman Street and Wayland Avenue.
Mark Russell, one of the owners of the home and the property, tells GoLocal that it was a heartbreaking decision to sell the building.
“We will continue to operate in East Providence, but we are over 70 years of age and we need to begin to plan,” said Mark Russell.
