Vince Gotera, an award-winning poet and professor at the University of Northern Iowa, plans to inspire Iowans to read and write poetry, bringing beauty and art into their everyday lives.
Carl Phillips, a professor of English in Arts & Sciences at Washington University in St. Louis, has won the 2023 Pulitzer Prize in Poetry. Phillips received the honor for his latest collection, “Then The War: And Selected Poems, 2007-2020.” The prizes were announced May 8.
The nonprofit Sundance Institute announced today the names of the mediamakers selected for the new Humanities Sustainability Fellowship, a year-long program providing 20 U.S.-based under-resourced nonfiction mediamakers whose work and livelihood have been grossly affected by the pandemic with direct, unrestricted stipends to supplement their income.
