you could have asked the local florist. because every day dad gave mom a rose, which he put on her bedside table. that s how she found out what happened on the day my father died. she went looking for him because that morning there was no rose. and then there was this cutaway shot of a woman in the audience who just put her hands to her mouth. it was a very emotional moment. emotional, too, when he talked about his sons and how they used to come into his bedroom and what parent can t relate to that and how he would give anything for that. did he accomplish that, did he make himself seem more relatable? he did. but again, this should have happened before, right? so one of the things that s so surprising is we haven t heard those stories before, we haven t seen that side of him. it s getting late in the day for a complain to be introducing the human side of a candidate who has been running for president for six years.
