Over the past few months, the town’s Society of St. Vincent De Paul Community Assistance Center, one of the largest food pantries in the Seacoast area, has seen an uptick in visitors.
EXETER – Due to high demand and a low supply, George & Phillips owner Bert Freedman has devised a way to fairly sell the highly anticipated new Exeter Edition Nike Air Max running shoes, all while supporting a local cause.
Freedman announced his store received just 11 pairs of the Exeter Edition shoes to sell, which were previously intended to be sold directly to customers via Nike’s SNKRS app. Nike sales team decided to “break its own rules” and send a shipment to its former local independently-owned factory outlet. Nike had a factory on Front Street from 1974 until 1983.
Freedman said he’s already received interest from upwards of three dozen people looking to buy a pair of the Exeter Edition shoes.
