We re just a month away from the debut of new seasons of The CW s shows, after nearly all of its original shows had their release dates delayed amid the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to a slew of returning series, the network will be debuting a handful of new shows, including a new reboot of
Walker, Texas Ranger. The series, titled
Walker, already has a lot of hype surrounding it, both for its continuation of the franchise and for the fact that Supernatural star Jared Padalecki will be playing the lead role. While the series premiere is still a few weeks away, The CW has debuted a trio of new photos surrounding the series, as well as a new promotional poster.

Walker, Texas Ranger is a strong contender for most unhinged series of all time, so we were delighted to hear that The CW is rebooting it with
Supernatural’s Jared Padalecki. Surely the network will maintain the original’s joie de vivre, confronting Walker with as many Native American spirits, bears, and telekinetic children as he can handle.

This week, Padalecki himself shared the reboot’s first teaser, which is, oddly enough, lacking in jet-packs and martial arts. Instead, it’s all 10-gallon hats, horses, and sad musings about the ex-wife Padalecki’s Cordell Walker couldn’t save. “You are chasing ghosts!” one character yells. We hope he means we literal ones, but, you know, he’s probably talking about the dead wife.

The CW said goodbye to
Supernatural earlier this year, but fans will soon be reunited with Jared Padalecki on the network. After the actor parted ways with Sam Winchester, the star will return to TV shortly as Cordell Walker in a reboot of the classic
Walker, Texas Ranger drama. This new series will put Padalecki in a very different role from what fans saw back in
Supernatural, and the first trailer for this new series has gone live.
You can check out the trailer above as it begins with Walker introducing himself to fans. It doesn t take long to learn the ranger s wife was killed recently, but it seems something is off with the situation. Walker isn t convinced his wife s death is what is appears, and this first trailer teases how far he will go to find the truth.
