have grown into a new dimension.
Welcome to the
Rugrats reboot, the first cg production in the franchise. The series is one of the flagship animated originals for Paramount+, ViacomCBS’s new streaming service. The first batch of episodes, which see the return of the main characters from the 1990s series, will debut on the platform on May 27. Watch the trailer below:
Those unsettled by the characters’ new incarnations can take comfort from knowing that the voices, at least, are unchanged. The main voice cast from the original are reprising their roles: E.G. Daily (Tommy Pickles), Nancy Cartwright (Chuckie Finster), Cheryl Chase (Angelica Pickles), Cree Summer (Susie Carmichael), and Kath Soucie (Phil and Lil DeVille).
Are you yearning for more streaming options? ViacomCBS will happily oblige. The conglomerate is gearing up to launch its new SVOD platform Paramount+ which is technically a rebrand of its existing CBS All Access service on March 4, and it is promising animation aplenty.
At its Investor Day on Wednesday, the company set out the details of the launch. By the summer, Paramount+ will have an impressive 2,500 feature films and 30,000 series episodes. There will be two pricing tiers: a premium plan at $9.99 and an ad-supported base plan at $4.99. The platform will also debut in Canada and Latin America on March 4, in the Nordics on March 25, and in Australia later in the year.

Rugrats Reboot Teaser
Even though this is a reboot, the series does seem to have captured the spirit and style of the original series, just with computer animation.
