The 2-storey house at Shivaji Nagar collapsed in the early hours of Friday MUMBAI: Four members of a family, including a senior citizen, died in their sleep after their ground-plus-two-storey house at Shivaji Nagar in Govandi crashed early on Friday. Seven other people from a neighbouring structure were injured in the mishap too. The dead include Neha Shaikh (35), Shamshad Shaikh (45), Mokar Shaikh (80) and Farin Shaikh (22). The Shaikhs owned a furniture shop on the ground floor of the structure and they lived upstairs. They had moved in around a year ago. Officials said while Neha and Mokar were declared brought dead at Rajawadi Hospital, Shamshad was brought in, in a critical condition and died a few hours later.

According to civic officials, seven people were injured. Four people are undergoing treatment at Rajawadi hospital and three at Sion hospital. At least three dead as building collapses in Mumbai s Govandi Out of the eight sent to Rajawadi hospital, Neha Shaikh,35, and Mokar Shaikh,80 and Farin Shaikh, 22 were declared brought dead. Shamshad Shaikh, 45, died while undergoing treatment . The remaining injured were said to be in stable condition.

According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the incident took place around 4:58 am on Friday morning at Govandi, Shivaji Nagar area. The deceased have been identified as Neha Pervez Shaikh (Female - 35 years), Mokar Zabir Shaikh (Male - 80 years), Shamshad Shaikh (Female - 45 years) and Farin Shaikh (F-22 years). According to officials, Neha Shaikh and Mokar Shaikh were declared dead as soon as they were brought at hospital, while Shamsad Shaikh and Farin Shaikh succumbed to their injuries, during her treatment.
