NEW YORK American Jewish community leaders gathered Sunday in Manhattan to thank President Reuven Rivlin for his service on behalf of the State of Israel and world Jewry in a farewell ceremony at the front end of the president’s final trip to the US as head of state.
Executives of the Jewish Federations of North America, the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, the American Zionist Movement and the UJA-Federation of New York highlighted Rivlin’s ability during his seven years as president to serve as a unifying figure, bringing Israelis and Jews of all backgrounds together.
