Disorder was the rule when the public comment period at the Mohnton Borough Council meeting became a free-for-all.
More than 35 people attended the meeting Wednesday. It was the first in-person council meeting in more than a year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
About a dozen spoke, but the meeting spiraled out of control as members of the audience refused to yield the floor, outshouted one another and hurled insults at council President Mike DeFeo and Mayor Gary Kraft.

Most spoke in favor of retaining a borough-operated police department.
The issue has been a hot topic for the past six months in the community of about 3,000 people in an area of less than 1 square mile.Â
