PETALING JAYA: Johor speaker Datuk Mohd Puad Zarkashi’s remarks against the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) made clear the Umno supreme council member's ignorance of the law, says lawyer Rafique Rashid.
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 26 The High Court here today dismissed Datuk Mohd Puad Zarkashi’s application to set aside an ex-parte injunction obtained by former prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to restrain the former Umno Supreme Council member from republishing alleged defamatory.
KUALA LUMPUR: The High Court has dismissed an application by Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to prolong an injunction to restrain Umno supreme council member Datuk Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi from republishing alleged defamatory statements over a quarantine order involving Muhyiddin on Mohd Puad's Facebook account.
KUALA LUMPUR (March 5): UMNO Supreme Council member Datuk Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi has removed his controversial Facebook post containing alleged defamatory statements on the quarantine order involving Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, following the High Court s ex parte injunction imposed on Mohd Puad.
Checks by theedgemarkets.com showed that the Feb 9, 2021 Facebook post had been removed.
Yesterday Muhyiddin, through his lawyers from Rosli Dahlan Saravana Partnership, tried to initiate contempt of court proceedings against former Batu Pahat member of Parliament Mohd Puad after the latter initially refused to remove the post.
After seeking clarification from the court, Mohd Puad removed the post. Yesterday he said in a statement he woould abide by the court order ahead of the hearing of the inter partes injunction on March 12.
KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has obtained an interim injunction to restrain Datuk Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi from republishing allegedly defamatory statements over the quarantine order involving the premier on the Umno supreme council member s Facebook page.
Muhyiddin’s lawyer Rosli Dahlan said High Court judge Justice Mohd Firuz Jaffril allowed the ex-parte application by Muhyiddin on Monday afternoon (March 1) in the presence of his two other lawyers, Datuk D.P. Naban and Louis Liaw. The writ of summons was filed this morning with a certificate of urgency to hear a notice of application for interim injunction. The High Court judge granted an interim injunction pending disposal of the inter-parte hearing which was fixed on March 12, ” he told Bernama via WhatsApp message.
