Kota Kinabalu: An unemployed man, who faces two counts of trafficking drugs, was among three people who claimed trial at the High Court, here, Friday.
Liew Choon Ang, 29, Sim Sun Chhiam, 38, Faiz Abu Imbin, 25, who appeared before Judicial Commissioner Amelati Parnell pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Unemployed Liew and Sim, both from Kelantan were jointly charged with trafficking 3,510.5 gm of syabu at 12.50am on July 4, 2020 in the OIC room at the passenger inspection branch operations office of the Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) here.

Liew was also accused of trafficking another 4, 243.9 gm of syabu at 12.30am on the same day at the scanner machine inspection counter, domestic arrival hall (two), KKIA.

Kota Kinabalu: A 27-year-old Sarawakian, who was charged with trafficking 2,129.1gm of syabu will go on trial in September and October this year.
High Court Judicial Commissioner Amelati Parnell set Sept 13–15, 17 and Oct 11-14 for the trial of Anthony Chan Wei Onn during mention of his case on Monday.
Chan, an air-conditioner repairman, was accused of trafficking 2,129.1gm of syabu at 6.20pm on July 12, 2019 at the J&T Express premises on the ground floor of Kolam Plaza Phase 1 in Jalan Lintas.

He had on Jan 20, 2020 claimed trial to the charge under Section 39B(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act, which carries the death sentence or imprisonment for life and whipping not less than 15 strokes if not sentenced to death, on conviction.
