2021 is truly a momentous year for the Malaysian judiciary, with the legal fraternity, locally and abroad, focused on the courts when several decisions, deemed as shocking, were made in historic and high-profile cases involving national leaders, including former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak
SEREMBAN: Former Negri Sembilan mentri besar Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad is in good health and resting at his home in Senawang near here, says his son Mohd Najib.
IPOH: Setting an age limit for elected leaders is unnecessary, says Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman.
The Umno supreme council member said it was more important on what the leaders can contribute to the country.
He said having young leaders who are capable physically and mentally are good, but they lack experience.
“There is more than meets the eye when it comes to the responsibility of elected leaders.
“There are young and senior politicians who don’t perform, ” he told a press conference after attending an event at a college here on Wednesday (April 14).
“On a personal note, it is a good idea (to have young politicians), so that seniors like me can get some rest, ” the Pasir Salak MP added.
KUALA LUMPUR: Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad’s solicitation for bribes was “activated” by his use of the word salam (greetings) through his former special officer, says the High Court here.
Justice Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali, who found the former Felda chairman guilty of nine counts of graft, said it was undeniable that Isa was involved in soliciting more than RM3mil as kickback to approve Felda’s purchase of a hotel in Kuching.
“The request (for bribe) is ‘activated’ by the accused’s salam to Gegasan Abadi Properties Sdn Bhd (GAPSB) board member Ikhwan Zaidel through his former special officer Muhammad Zahid Md Arip.
