Accounts are regularly audited, says Kukke temple

The management of Kukke Shree Subrahmanya Temple has said that temple accounts are being regularly audited by agencies concerned and there has been a delay in accounting only for financial year 2020-21 due to the COVID-19 situation.
Temple Managing Committee president Mohanram Sulli and Executive Officer Ningaiah told reporters at Subrahmanya that there was no substance in the charge made by a few people that accounts were not audited.
Audits for 2012-15 were done by the government audit department, Mangaluru Circle, while those for 2015-19 were done by private chartered accountants chosen from a panel suggested by the district administration. And, the temple’s auditor has carried out audit for 2019-20.

Udupi, Apr 25: In the wake of the rising Covid cases in Karnataka, BJP Lok Sabha member Shobha Karandlaje has urged Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa to declare a health emergency in the state.
She has also urged the government to take over 50 per cent of beds in private hospitals so that Covid patients can be treated.
She has also asked the government to provide details relating to the availability of the vital Remdesivir and oxygen on a daily basis in order to ensure there is no anxiety among patients on likely shortage.
Revenue of Kukke Subrahmanya Temple drops by over ₹29 crore

AAA The COVID-19 pandemic and reduced footfall has hit one of the richest temples of Karnataka. The annual revenue of Kukke Subrahmanya Temple, a Muzrai temple, dropped by ₹29.98 crore during 2020-21, falling from ₹98.92 crore in 2019-20 to ₹68.94 crore.
Many devotees from the State and outside visit the temple, mainly to offer “
sarpa samskara” and “
ashlesha bali” sevas. Both sevas are offered by people irrespective of religion. The temple attracts actors, politicians, and cricket players, among others.
According to Mohanram Sulli, chairman of the temple management committee, the temple remained closed for devotees from March 17 to September 8 last year because of the lockdown and COVID-19 restrictions. Hence, the temple did not earn any revenue for about six months.
Mangaluru: Massive explosion at MSEZ triggers panic

Mangaluru, Apr 24: A powerful explosion at Catasynth Specialty Chemicals under the jurisdiction of MSEZ limited in Permude area on the outskirts of the city today triggered panic among the local residents.
No casualties were reported. The exact reason behind the explosion is not yet known.
Thick smoke could be seen billowing out of the building following the explosion. Petroleum by-products are processed in this company.
Kadri fire station, HPCL, NMPT, and MCF fire tenders rushed to the spot.
