The total blackout being experienced in Calabar, the Cross River State capital has entered its fifth day.
The blackout reportedly started after last Thursday’s heavy rain and thunderstorm which ravaged the metropolis, destroying property worth billions of Naira, including electrical installations in the city.
Besides the damaged electrical installations, big trees uprooted by the storm also fell on electric installations increasing the blackout which has affected many businesses in the metropolis.
A tour around the city by DAILY POST revealed that technicians who make use of electricity for their work have suffered the most, especially those who do not own generators.
