KILLINGLY A Plainfield man is in the hospital after crashing his vehicle off the road and plummeting into the Five Mile River, police say.
Connecticut State Police said a car driven by Mohammed Elkennaw, 86, was traveling north on Main Street and rounding a corner when it crossed over the right shoulder, jumped a curb and traveled off the roadway. Police said the call came in just before 11:20 a.m. Saturday.
