Abu Dhabi Police have now stated that speed limits on Abu Dhabi s external roads are back to normal, with temperatures expected to touch 49C on Saturday.
As dense fog engulfed various parts of the UAE on Saturday morning, the police had announced speed limit reduction on major roads from and towards the Capital to 80kmph. On its official Twitter page, the police said speed reduction system had been activated on Mohammed Bin Rashid Road (Abu Dhabi - Dubai), Maktoum Bin Rashid Road (Al Smeeh - Dubai), AbuDhabi-Al Ain Road, Al Fayah Road (Truck Road) and Abu Dhabi - Sweihan road.

Motorists advised to drive carefully in foggy conditions
Multiple vehicles crashed in Dubai due to dense fog on Wednesday morning, the police have said.
The accident between several vehicles was reported on Emirates Road, after Al Ruwaiya Bridge towards Abu Dhabi.

The Dubai Police warned of dense fog in the area and urged motorists to drive carefully.
Fog in UAE: Speed limits reduced on major roads

Motorists are urged to follow the revised speed limits while driving in foggy weather.
Fog covered various parts of the UAE on Wednesday morning, affecting visibility.
The Abu Dhabi Police announced activation of speed reduction to 80kmph on major external roads to ensure safety of motorists.
The National Centre of Meteorology issued a fog alert and said it’s likely to continue on Wednesday morning with visibility reducing to less than 1,000 metres.
In Abu Dhabi, the police urged motorists to follow the revised speed limits while driving in foggy weather.

Lowest temperature recorded over the country today morning was 9.9°C.
It’s another foggy morning across the UAE for the eighth consecutive day on Wednesday, the National Centre for Meteorology (NCM) has said.
Fog formation started early on Tuesday night in different parts of the country and by 5.30am on Wednesday, it spread to almost all the parts of the country, according to the data shared by the NCM on its social media accounts. Fog covered airports in Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and Abu Dhabi and major roads across the emirates.
