news Qatar proposes to establish investment zone in Sudan SudanTribube.com May 24, 2021 (KHARTOUM) - The Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Monday discussed in Khartoum ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and proposed to establish an investment zone in Sudan. Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani on Monday met with the Chairman of the Sovereign Council, Abd Al-Fattah al-Burhan, his deputy, Mohammad Hamdan Dagalo Hemetti , Prime Minister Abdallah Hamdok and Foreign Minister Mariam al-Mahdi. Al-Thani delivered a message from the Emir of Qatar to al-Burhan dealing with strengthening bilateral relations. Also, he conveyed to the Prime Minister the support of his country to face the economic situations and to achieve peace and stability in Sudan.

Sudan agrees to reactivate agreements with Qatar in first post-re

Sudan has agreed to reactivate dozens of bilateral agreements with Qatar after the countries leaders met for the first time since the 2019 ousting of former dictator Omar al-Bashir. We have more than 36 agreements and protocols signed between both countries. We agreed to activate these agreements next week or the week after the Qatari delegation will visit Sudan, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, the leader of Sudan s transitional sovereign council, was quoted as saying by Al-Jazeera. Burhan travelled to the Qatari capital Doha on Wednesday for meetings with Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Prime Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani.
