Photos of the notice went viral on social media recently because of its content saying regulations have been tightened after “instafamous celebrities and artistes who abused permission for interstate travels granted by the Royal Malaysia Police”.

No new directives on inter-state travel requirements, says Cheras OCPD

KUALA LUMPUR: There are no new directives on the requirements for interstate travel permits despite a notice on a police station door demanding strict proof due to recent instafamous incidents. Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Mohamed Mokhsein Mohamed Zon said the notice – a photo of which has gone viral on social media – did not reflect any new directive on the permission needed for interstate travel. The requirements for such permits remain the same. Those who wish to travel interstate must have valid reasons and furnish proof as per the Covid-19 standard operating procedures, he said when contacted on Tuesday (April 6). I have always reminded my men to check the validity of the interstate travel request.
