ABU DHABI, 26th February, 2022 (WAM) The UAE sent a plane carrying 35 tonnes of foodstuffs to Mekelle in the Tigray region, Ethiopia, as part of efforts to support the humanitarian situation.
Mohamed Al Rashidi, Ambassador of the UAE to Ethiopia, said that the sending of food supplies came at the directives of the UAE's leadership to support the humanitarian situation in the Tigray region.
He also emphasised the UAE's commitment to a humanitarian approach that supports emergency relief in countries in need.
