IPOH: A former human resources executive of a pharmaceutical company, who went on the run from the authorities, was jailed for two months and fined over RM79,000 for making false salary claims.
Siti Aisyah Mohamad Amir, 31, pleaded guilty to five out of 14 charges before Sessions Court judge S. Indra Nehru yesterday.
She was sentenced to two months’ jail for each offence with the terms to run concurrently while the fine was imposed in default of 15 months’ jail.
For the remaining nine charges, Siti Aisyah was discharged and acquitted under Section 171 (A) of the Criminal Procedure Code.
This section empowers the courts to account for an existing conviction when considering any outstanding charges against an accused person.
