San francisco has been a leader in our Technology Community and our Technology Economy across our country and now we get to continue to play a role in being a leader bringing Technology Solutions to improve the lives of our residents here in our city. Its been a privilege to work on this project and to lead this effort the last two years and look forward to bringing the Broader Vision of free wifi across San Francisco in the next few years with all the partners behind me today. This has been a strong collaboration on behalf of a lot of partners. In particular, google, sf city, our recreation and Park Department as well as our department of technology, and i want to thank all of those involved. This project started a little over two years ago with a conversation i had with an old family friend from google. And i want to take a moment to thank the entire google team that worked on this project. Its been two years, so, its touched a lot of desks and had a lot of approvals and in particula
The San Francisco Parks Alliance is to inspire and promote Civic Engagement and philanthropy to protect the city and enrich San Francisco parks, recreation, and green open spaces. Today i think that youll find that the and rincon hill is no exception to that. You might know that back in the gold rush era, rincon hill where were standing right now was one of the poshest addresses in San Francisco. This was the place to be ~. And then Pacific Heights took over and rincon hill fell into decline. Then came the bay bridge and rincon hill really for decades was something of a back water. Well, look at it now. Were surrounded by highrise development, the president ial towers, built, getting built, and more of them planned. So, once again, rincon hill is one of the most sought after popular places to live in San Francisco. But where are the parks . Where are the Public Open Spaces . Where are the places where all of these thousands of residents can gather and reflect on the meaning of life and
The habit coming into it because the legislation was for ten years. So i think that perhaps, folks are thinking of ten years and that is the pilot aspect of it. And the aspect of the program has concluded that the program and the funding our capitol plan for ten years total. I think that you would come up. And that is a concern of mine is and so now, i clearly understand it and i appreciate that and i only have one last clarification. And once we start to rule out whatever we are going to rule out from this point forward, there is going to be conversation and there is going to be labor components and we did get it back on how we will let that out and that will also be ape subject of these discussions and am i right . That is correct. The whole idea behind this is to bring our stake holders in the room and come up where they process where we can do solar on our own customers. And in a way that is ininclusive of all of the stake holder in all of the advocates and so we need to sit down a
I have a couple of comments as well. It is just stunning and there has got to be one of the only shipyards that you have turned into a park i dont know. Obviously this will be an example for the nation as well as honestly probably anywhere in the world. And one thing that i already have the port folks here is that i would love to make my pitch and i made it to ram before and it is not just in seattle, they have a pocket park and a beach. And you get away from the traffic and you hear the water on the beach and it is fantastic and so i love seeing the water meeting this park. But i would love to promote it in more spots along the wharf downtown and stuff so you can drop in and where that new park is down at brannen and i would love if we had a pork ket beach, otherwise, i would agree, anything interrupting your access to the water i would love to see not there. Slip way two and three and that would be great if it that was open. Anyone else. No. And fantastic, thank you guys very much. A
So, on the one hand, i think as a bedroom, since its off the bedroom and if we assume that the project sponsor is going to live there for quite a long period of time and hes old enough that hes not going to grow very much taller, hes, you know, the five foot setback would probably work. I dont know which lady in the back is your wife, but i assume shes not any taller than you are. So, from one standpoint you could argue that five feet might work in this case and still have enough livability on the deck. And i suppose and i dont know where to go with it exactly, but one idea might be to have although you may not want to go to the extent of spending the money for it, but you could have the roof deck as a deck and only pull the railing back five feet. And then at some future date and im trying to be sensitive here. At some future date, either the if this owner leaves, youre not going to sell your house since youve been there for 30 years. There might be a time in the future when there cou
