At the Co-op in Angle Park, just off Thurso Road, one of the cheques was handed to the Caithness Mental Health Support Group (CMHSG) which runs The Haven in Wick and Stepping Stones in Thurso. Co-op manager Modris Karklins said that every year the shop gives away £250 and this year the money was split equally between CMHSG and Keiss Primary School.

Wick Coop manager Modris Karklins and the store s member pioneer Jamie Robson gave trolleys filled with festive food to kids in Keiss and the elderly people of Lybster through two local representatives from each village. Treasa Hamilton, secretary of Keiss Primary School Parent Council said: We had spoken to Modris at the Coop and asked if they could donate treats for the children. It s been a very difficult year and we just thought it would be nice if we could give them an end of term treat.
