Thrive Regional Partnership, which lists truckload carrier Covenant (NASDAQ: CVLG) as one of its investors, submitted comments to the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) earlier this month asking that the agency consider the benefits of extending its commercial vehicle lanes (CVL) project along the I-75 corridor in northwest Georgia.

Thrive Regional Partnership Weighs In On Commercial Vehicle Lanes In Georgia Monday, December 21, 2020 Thrive recently responded to a request for public comment by the Georgia Department of Transportation’s Major Mobility Investment Program, particularly regarding Commercial Vehicle Lanes. Safe and efficient freight movement is vital to economic growth, however, current conditions lead to congested freight corridors, bottlenecks, and limited truck parking, said officials. Trends suggest these concerns will only become more significant in the future.  In its public comment, Thrive suggested the adoption of regional strategies across greater lengths of the I-75 corridor to manage freight and infrastructure issues and strengthen economic development.
