To the editor: Your April 28 editorial titled “State Police won’t issue regular scam warnings” was misleading and served as a cheap shot to the hard-working and dedicated members of the New York State Police, rather than an attempt to educate the public. The State Police is a full-service police agency that investigates all types of reported crimes, from barking dog calls to prison breaks. We have several specialty units that are ready to respond when needed at a moment’s notice, including our Canine Unit, Special Operations Response Team, Underwater Recovery Team, Aviation, Violent Gang and Narcotic Enforcement Team, Mobile Field Unit and many more. We take pride in providing our resources to other law enforcement agencies when they are needed.
