Three peddlers including a police constable were arrested by the Special Operations Team (SOT) of Cyberabad police recently. Continuing the crackdown on peddlers in the city, the police seized around 140kg of Alprazolam drug used in toddy adulteration worth over Rs 8.5 crore. The peddlers were arrested on Sunday after being stopped by the police on the Pipeline Road in Jeedimetla.
As per a report in the Times of India, the police intercepted two cars on the Pipeline Road and arrested two peddlers - G Linga Goud (36), M Vinod Kumar (27). While Goud is the owner of Dr Goud Laboratories, Kumar is a car driver. Based on their confessions, the police also nabbed armed reserve constable M

Award of Distinction for cultural heritage conservation
The renovated Koothambalam of the Sreekrishna temple, Guruvayur, has been selected for the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Award for cultural heritage conservation. It
received the Award of Distinction.
The UNESCO introduced the special award to acknowledge the role and contribution of cultural heritage to sustainable development.
The restoration work on the Koothambalam hall valorised the affinity between architectural heritage and associated living, spiritual and artistic tradition, said the UNESCO in its statement.
“The project has sensitively conserved one of the few remaining structures in southern Indian designed for ritual performances of the Koodiyattom,” it said.
