Donald Trump was due to testify on Monday 11 December in his own defence in the civil trial for financial fraud. The 77-year-old former president posted a surprise message on the Truth Social network, saying he had "already testified about everything" Trump, his eldest sons Donald Jr and Eric and other Trump Organization executives are accused of inflating the value of skyscrapers, luxury hotels and golf courses. The lawsuit covers several other offenses, such as insurance fraud, and financial penalties sought by the New York State Attorney General's Office, which is seeking $250 million.
