Agartala, May 3 : The Tripura government has removed West Tripura District Magistrate and Collector Shailesh Kumar Yadav for his alleged high handedness in dealing with the people in two marriage halls in Agartala recently amidst the night curfew imposed to curb the alarming rise in Covid-19 cases, a Minister said on Monday.
Yadav, who earlier apologised for disrupting the marriage ceremonies during the raids on April 26, in a letter to the Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar on Sunday requested to be relieved from the post of District Magistrate and Collector pending an inquiry into the incident that rocked the state and many parts of the country.
