The governing body of women's hockey in Ontario has made an offer on social media to host the under-18 world women's championship after the event was cancelled for the second straight year on Friday.
The International Ice Hockey Federation announced Friday that tournaments scheduled to begin in January have been cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns, including the under-18 women’s world championship.
It s the second straight year the tournament has been cancelled because of the pandemic. There were seven players from Minnesota on the United states roster.
The International Ice Hockey Federation has cancelled all of its January events amid rising COVID-19 cases around the world, meaning the women's under-18 tournament will not be played for a second consecutive year.
