The Japanese government is cracking down on counterfeit agri-food product exports protected under the Geographical Indication (GI) scheme with the use of digital monitoring technology.
Toyota Motor Corporation has been unable to procure parts due to problems with its customers' production facilities. Toyota has decided to suspend operations at 6 production lines in total at six domestic plants, including group companies, including the Takaoka Plant in Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture. In addition, Toyota Motor East Japan's plants in Iwate and Miyagi Prefectures will join the company on March 10, and a total of 20 production lines at eight plants will be suspended all day.
