it s a private lunch, and we re going to leave it at that. i haven t looked at the menu. but i bet it was and is quite tasty. in the spotlight tonight, president obama bestows one final election gift. and this time, mitt romney is the recipient. at half past noon today, the winner and loser of this year s presidential election caught the holiday spirit, let by gones be by gones and ate white turkey chili and southwestern grilled chicken salad during a, quote, friendly lunch together. according to the official white house report, governor romney congratulated the president for the success of his campaign and wished him well over the coming four years. they pledged to stay in touch, particularly if opportunities to work together on shared interests arise in the future. before his lunch date, mitt romney met with the most recent losing vice presidential candidate who will never be president.
