the third time at the International Ski and Snowboard Federation
Freestyle Ski, Snowboard and Freeski World Championships in Bakuriani,
while South Korea's Lee Chae-un became South Korea's first-ever
snowboard world champion.
CALGARY Canada's Elizabeth Hosking claimed silver in the women's World Cup snowboard halfpipe on Friday. Hosking of Longueuil, Que., had a top score of 86 points. Japan's Mitsuki Ono stood atop the podium with 89.75.
Japan's Ruka Hirano and Mitsuki Ono both won their third straight snowboarding halfpipe World Cup events Friday, wrapping up the season by respectively claiming their maiden men's and women's overall titles.
Japan's 18-year-old Mitsuki Ono won her first women's snowboarding World Cup halfpipe event on Jan. 21, while Ruka Hirano won his third men's competition.
