Indian cars modified for camping & overlanding
BHPians love to travel, and of course we want to do the travelling with our cars. Well, how about taking it a step further and spending the night with them, perhaps in a secluded location under the stars? Overlanding allows us to go to remote locations across the country, and camping in our cars allow us to pitch tent wherever we want to. There are two performance models on the cards as well.
Mitsubishi currently has no model on sale in India.
Mitsubishi has divulged its plans of introducing eight new models after 2022, including all-new offerings and a few generation updates on existing vehicles.
The Triton pickup truck, Xpander MPV (the Ertiga equivalent), and the Pajero Sport will get their generation upgrades. The company also said that the next-gen Xpander will get an electric powertrain, which will be sold alongside the standard petrol MPV.
Mitsubishi Outlander is powered by a 181PS 2.5-litre petrol engine.
Notable features include connected car tech, semi autonomous driving, and Bose sound system with dual subwoofers.
Priced from $26,990 (Rs 19.63 lakh) in the United States.
Rivals the Volkswagen Tiguan and Honda CR-V.
Mitsubishi, a carmaker that gave us cult cars like the Lancer, Cedia, Pajero, Lancer Evo, is not very popular in India. But it is up and running in other markets. It has now taken the wraps off the fourth-gen Outlander crossover, which will go on sale initially in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico in April.
Unlike the previous model, the fourth-gen Outlander with its boxy proportions and upright stance looks properly SUV. A large honeycomb mesh grille with three sleek chrome slats dominates the front end and is flanked by a sleek pair of split LED headlamps. The chrome surrounds also neatly flow from the DRLs and merge the projector fog lamps.
