In a video message earlier Tuesday evening, Trump ripped the $2.3 trillion bill, which as written includes stimulus checks of only $600 as part of a $900 billion in coronavirus relief funding. The bill also includes another $1.4 trillion to fund the government through most of next year.

When a reporter noted that he sounded frustrated, Hawley said the situation was beginning to reach the point of absurdity and that it was time for leadership to put on the table what they ve got.

“Mitch McConnell is not an un-honest actor when it comes to things like that” Sirota said. “So, if Biden has in his mind that that’s what’s gonna happen…it’s not gonna go well.”
Sirota added that Biden’s tenure in the Obama administration should have shown him that bipartisanship wouldn’t work out, claiming that the administration was “constantly thwarted at every turn by Republican obstructionism.”
