Man dies after fall from bucket truck | Alton Daily News

WBGZ Radio 6/1/2021 | By Mark Ellebracht - WBGZ Radio A man from Vandalia died after falling from a bucket truck on Friday.  The Madison County Corner reports 41-year-old Timothy Funk was working on a sign outside a Pontoon Beach motel when the bucket apparently broke free from the lift arm, causing him to fall about 60 feet to the ground.  He died at an area hospital about an hour later.   Funk was working for Jenkins Display Company of Vandalia at the time of the incident around 3:15pm Friday outside the Motel 6. The coroner’s report says an investigation is underway to determine how the bucket broke away from the support arm, causing Funk to fall to the ground.  The Mitchell Fire Department and Pontoon Beach Police responded to the scene and Funk was taken to Anderson Hospital where he died from blunt head trauma.  Officials from OHSA are also investigating.
