Ross Houliston, the residents’ association research and submissions officer, said they wanted to add the logo to the Denton Park grandstand “to try and bring a bit of pride into the area and a bit of pride back to Christchurch”. The residents’ association has asked the Halswell-Hornby-Riccarton Community Board to fund the idea. The council s acting head of community support, governance and partnerships, Gary Watson, said the residents’ association and the board’s governance team would develop the proposal further. The board had a discretionary response fund, which the council hoped could fund the project.
