Behavioral Health ribbon-cutting in Cape By Marsha Heller and Brooke Buckner | February 23, 2021 at 4:00 AM CST - Updated March 5 at 3:28 PM
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - A ribbon-cutting ceremony kicked off the opening of the new Southeast Behavioral Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
The ceremony was held Tuesday morning, February 23.
Missouri Governor Mike Parson participated in the event.
He called the hospital a perfect model and a good way to expand the needed care for behavioral health.
”This mental health issue doesn’t pick boundary lines whatsoever. It’s all across the state,” Governor Parson said.
“We know this is an issue whether you’re in southeast Missouri, whether you’re in downtown St. Louis or the big urban areas.”
