Guidance for Pfizer vaccine use in Mississippi children aged 12 to 15 is posed to come during a press-only news conference with the Mississippi State Department of Health on Thursday.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention gave the green light on the emergency use of Pfizer in 12- to 15-year-olds Wednesday afternoon, upholding its Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices recommendation. (The) CDC now recommends that this vaccine be used among this population, and providers may begin vaccinating them right away, a Wednesday statement from CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky read.
After a four-hour Wednesday meeting, the CDC committee recommended the emergency use of Pfizer in 12- to 15-year-olds, meaning vaccination of this group could begin as early as Thursday. The decision came two days after the Food and Drug Administration gave the vaccine the go-ahead.
