Wild blue yonder. The news today that reminded americans and people all over the world what it feels like to dream and explore and what can happen when science and brain power and engineering combine to take us places far away. After traveling through space for ten years and doing five laps around the sun, a small spacecraft has landed on a comet and both are now hurtling through space at 40,000 miles an hour, traveling somewhere between mars and jupiter. Think of it this way, tonight as we come on the air there are american footprints on the moon, a rover driving across the surface of mars, now a spacecraft the size of a washing machine hanging onto a comet for dear life. We begin tonight with nbcs katy tur at the European Space Agency Headquarters in germany. Reporter these are pictures from 300 million miles away of something weve never seen this close before, the surface of a comet. The Mission Rosetta journey began a decade ago, today success. I want you to know at that time, the conflict had claimed 185 lives. Only on monday night, did hamas finally agree to that very same proposal that went in to effect yesterday morning. That means a full 90 percent of the fatalities and the conflict that are avoided and hamas had not rejected and the ceasefire that is has now. For the sake of a

An unnamed israeli official says israel is on board, but palestinian leaders say such talk is premature. Well, u. S. President Barack Obama Says he supports the effort to extend that ceasefire, but he made it clear he has no sympathy for hamas. Yeah, mr. Obama says there must be a way to protect israels security and help the people of gaza who are struggling. Listen to this. The shortterm goal has to be to make sure that rocket launches do not resume, that the work that the Israeli Government did in closing off these tunnels has been completed and that we are now in the process of helping to rebuild a gaza thats been really badly damaged as a consequence of this conflict.
