You are absolutely right. Five times since the end of world war ii a party has had the white house for two consecutive terms. President reagans Approval Ratings back in 1988 were very good. Democrats in their infinite wisdom nominated michael dukakis, and the rest is history. For 2016, there are couple of things we dont know. History argues that republicans ought to win the presidency in 2016. But the big question is, will they have repaired their brand . Will they have repaired some their problems with minority voters, young voters, women voters, selfdescribed moderate voters . I would argue that some of those groups just basically stayed home. It will be interesting to watch to see whether latino turnout dropped disproportionally, for example, being upset that immigration hasnt gone through and all that. So if republicans address their brand challenges, it will obviously make a difference. Obviously also whoever the republican nominee will be. On the other hand, what kind of shape is
About earlier, is that more likely to give someone who has gotten things done outside of washington . It all comes down to the quality of the candidate, i think. Candidate quality really matters. What is more important is the caliber of the candidate and and have aty to lead vision for the country than where they come from. I agree with what he is saying. You think about 2012 for week ended with people declaring they were not witches and that there was legitimate right. In 2014, it was really dramatic. We have is our front runner secretary clinton who is considered a supreme quality candidate by the voters. Candidate whon really speaks to womens lives. She always has mobilized women voters and can be very effective. Plan and weconomic will fight, fight, fight until the economy is back on its feet for ordinary people. I cannot imagine anyone better to nominate dan a clinton. I think 2016 is really good and i plan to be on vacation all of 2015. Virginia and when i was walking out of the
Wont disagree over some issues that were passionate about. We will. Congress will pass some bills i cannot sign. Im pretty sure ill take some actions some in congress will not like. Thats natural. Thats how our democracy works. We can find ways to Work Together on issues where theres broad agreement among the American People. So i look forward to republicans putting forward their governing agenda. I will offer my ideas on areas where i think we can move together to respond to peoples economic needs. So just take one example, we all agree on the need to create more jobs that pay well. Traditionally, both parties have been for creating jobs, rebuilding our infrastructure, our roads, bridges, ports, waterways. I think we can hone in on a way to pay for it through tax reform that closes loopholes and makes it more attractive for companies to create jobs here in the United States. We can Work Together to grow our exports and open new markets for our manufacturers to sell more American Made
