Saturday, March 13th, 2021
Two former Marines have partnered with Mission Cry to send a shipment of 50,000 books to South Sudan.
Mission Cry’s Jason Woolford told Mission Network News the Marines, Aaron and Bobby, were wounded in Afghanistan.
They wanted to embark an another mission, driving across the country to collect donated Bibles for South Sudan.
Ten years after gaining independence, South Sudan cannot shake its chronic violence.
Last month the UN published a report stating, “vast swathes of South Sudan have witnessed a massive escalation of violence”.
Mr Woolford says people are being maimed and even martyred for their faith.
Mission Cry delivers hope to South Sudan

Last month, the United Nations published a report describing ongoing atrocities, stating “
vast swathes of South Sudan have witnessed a massive escalation in violence perpetrated by organized tribal militias exceeding the violent conflict of December 2013.”
“People are martyred for their faith; they’re being maimed physically, and they can’t even read about the very God they’re under fire for.”
Now, hope is on its way to South Sudan in the form of 50,000 Bibles and Christian books.
Mission Cry collects donated resources like these and ships them to believers around the world. A church in Kentucky and two former Marines partnered with Mission Cry to send this latest order on its way.
