The wait is almost over for Disneyland fans.
The gates to the “Happiest place on Earth” and California Adventure will open again on Friday morning for the first time in 412 days – the longest closure for Disneyland in its 65-year history.
But things won t be quite as they were pre-pandemic, as safety measures to help prevent the spread of coronavirus will be in place, including face mask requirements, temperature checks and distancing and no character hugs.
Thousands of fans tuned in on Monday night when the relighting of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle was broadcast live on Facebook as part of a soft reopening event for cast members and crew.

The media side of things quickly made back the $4 billion acquisition with a line of blockbuster films. Within a decade, three Marvel movies sat in the top ten list of highest-grossing films of all time. Still, on the Parks and Resort side things have taken a bit longer. A redo of the Tower of Terror at Disney California Adventure to the Guardians of the Galaxy opened in 2017. That same year a 3D motion simulator attraction themed to Iron Man opened at Hong Kong Disneyland.
Now that Disney and Universal have announced opening dates for their biggest new attractions in the United States this year, it s time to ask which one has the hardest grip on your attention.

Disneyland is reopening later this month, but the company will give you a few more weeks to get vaxxed before breaking out the big guns.

Disney Parks just announced that Avengers Campus, the brand new Marvel-themed land at California Adventure, will officially open on June 4. It was originally supposed to open last summer but, well, covid-19 happened. Now, with vaccinations rolling out and California businesses slowly reopening, it seems the company is hoping the new land, complete with a state-of-the-art Spider-Man ride, will entice fans to come back to the parks.
The land also has an Ant-Man themed restaurant, a Doctor Strange section, a new Iron Man armor, as well as character meet and greets. Plus, it’s linked to
Avengers Campus, the Marvel-themed land within Disney California Adventure, will open on
June 4,
2021.
It was originally set to open on July 20, 2020, but was delayed when COVID hit and the park closed its doors to the public. But Disneyland is set to reopen on April 30, and California residents who love attending the parks will likely soon be flocking to them in droves.
