Years old when i first took an oath in this capital to serve the people of this great state. The last sentence of that oath hit me hard on that day. It drives me still today. So help me god. To action of the oath of office is not a commitment to be perfect. It is a commitment to seek the guidance of the almighty god to compensate for our human frailty. Our forebears in mississippi governance were not perfect. They perfectly scripted this oath. As your governor, you have my commitment to seek gods guidance and gods will in all that i do. [applause]

We were lucky to have you for throw and a half decades and cant thank you if you have for that work. Supervisor yee supervisor fewer. Yes, i just wanted to thank you for your decades of service to the people of San Francisco and in particular to our tenants community. Thank you for being the light shining hope and assistance to renters in San Francisco. Thank you for your decades long work of advocacy and activism which is rare nowadays actually in San Francisco and i just want to say on behalf of my neighborhood, 65 of which. Thank you to everybody who came. I have mixed feelings for being honored on the rent board because im not done. I refuse to fade into the background. I will still here and i will work to save the homes of the thousands and thousands of people protected by rent control that are the heart and soul of the city i love.
