Kern County Aging and Adult Services will open the county's Cooling Centers on June 1. Aging and Adult Services, Kern County General Services, and PG&E are cooperating together to open them.
This year's PIT Count found that a little under 2,000 people in Kern County experience homeless. This is more than last year, but more of those people are sheltered now.
The Mission at Kern County will be providing meals to homeless people and local families in celebration of the Easter holiday and Good Friday on Fri, April 7.
