FRAMINGHAM, Massachusetts (WBZ) A Framingham dog was reunited with her owner after being missing for five years. Bay, a basenji, went missing while staying with a dog sitter because her owner was away, the non-profit Missing Dogs Massachusetts wrote on Facebook.
Bay was reported missing to the organization in 2016 and there were sporadic sightings of her.
In 2019, there were reports of a wandering dog in Needham. “Many had been feeding the dog as well. It was thought that it was a dog that had an owner and was allowed to roam. Then the dog would go off the grid as they often do.”

A lost dog that went missing in Framingham five years ago was found this week in Needham and reunited with her owner.
Bay, a street-savvy, white-and-tan Basenji, was first reported missing in June 2016 but managed to survive on her own and roam freely for years. Thanks to the efforts of a nonprofit group called Missing Dogs Massachusetts and Needhamâs animal control officer, she was safely captured Tuesday morning and was able to return home.

AUBURN - When the 1-year-old dog she d adopted a week earlier got spooked and ran off from her home, Cindy Kelson did what any frantic dog owner would do: She went out searching.
And after spending hours in a winter storm, scouring her neighborhood near Elmwood Street, talking to every snowplow driver and never catching a glimpse of Gwen, a white Great Pyrenees mix, she went home, worried and sad.
Missing Dogs of Massachusetts and Auburn Animal Control Officer Aimee Contois began helping Kelson in her search. Posters went up, social media posts went out and folks who might see Gwen were urged to do exactly the opposite of what they d probably want to do.
