Ken DeLand Jr., an American college student who was reported missing during a study abroad trip in France, is alive in Spain, his family and officials said.

His parents, in the small town of Clifton Springs, NY, waited tirelessly for clues to their son's uncharacteristic disappearance. Friday morning some news came that they had been waiting for.
