Susan Waring A neighbour saw a murder accused punch his alleged victim in the face weeks before she disappeared, a jury has heard. Alan Edwards, 48, is alleged to have murdered his partner Susan Waring, 45, from Darwen, Lancashire, and then disposed of her body which has still not been found. A fortnight before her last confirmed sighting at the end of January 2019, Pedro Cloete said he walked past the defendant’s back yard in Blackburn Road and witnessed the defendant striking Miss Waring. Mr Cloete told Preston Crown Court he walked over after he heard screaming in the alleyway and a man shouting: “I’ll f ing t you.”

A violent bully murdered his partner and disposed of her body which has still not been found, a court has heard.
Alan Edwards, 48, claimed he last saw Susan Waring, 45, as she kissed him goodbye and walked out of his flat in Darwen, Lancashire, in January 2019 but the prosecution say he is lying and is responsible for her death.
Her mother reported her missing several days later but despite extensive police inquiries Miss Waring s whereabouts are unknown and there is no evidence to say she is alive, Preston Crown Court was told.
