to the ongoing investigation becomes part of any case is a question for the department of justice. the judge, as andy correctly pointed out, cannot tell them what to charge anybody with. what she can do is she can hit the pause button or i think she could say okay, i ll accept the plea of guilty on the charges that we have before us because if we re not going to do diversion. let s say she denies that. there is a ten year potential penalty on that and another 12 months plus 12 months for the two miss demeanors. that would be 12 years in custody she has to work with if she feels the penalty part of this is just not sufficient. i think, though, before she can do anything, the sentencing was never supposed to occur today. if she is not going to if she is inclined to not take the plea deal. she is probably going to be disinclineed to accept a guilty plea. that may be where we re left.
both due in court this afternoon. we have details from washington. hi, mark. good morning. for the last several months the virginia grand jury investigated how loudon county school officials handled two incidents of sexual assaults done by a single student. the exsuperintendent and another spokesperson have been indicted. it was launched about virginia s attorney general. a report from the grand jury found there was no coordinated cover-up of last year s assault but jurors found multiple administrators and officials failed to properly handle the situation. last week the superintendent was fired from his job accused of not being honest with the school board about his knowledge of the incidents and facing three miss demeanors. he said i m disappointed that has made false and irresponsible act indications.

it does look like it is moving ahead steadily here in the senate. let s go through some of what the bill actually does. it would close the so-called boyfriend loophole. and what that means is that anyone convicted of domestic violence would not be allowed to purchase a gun. there would be an ability for people convicted of miss demeanors to get their right back after a period of time and no additional offenses.missdemet back after a period of time and no additional offenses. it it will also increase funding to mental health facilities, increase funding for programs within schools to help any student that is in need of that sort of counseling and help. it will fund crisis intervention programs in states across the country that could include incentivizing the red flag laws. and it could also enhance background checks for younger gun purchasers. and give more time for
