Sikkim flash floods: Surviving on just noodles, sattu tales of tourists and workers

Flash floods in Sikkim have caused chaos, with rivers overflowing and many areas being flooded. Many people were forced to leave their homes and take shelter in designated shelters. The Gajoldoba barrage on the Teesta river had to open all sluice gates. Tourists, workers, and students were stranded in various places due to the washed-away or damaged highways.

Mishti Haldar, 28, woke up morning to find that the Teesta was flowing almost within touching distance from her porch at Matigara near Siliguri.
