Srinagar: Anjuman Auqaf Jama Masjid Srinagar on Friday once again expressed deep concern over the fact that its head Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq continues to be under “illegal and arbitrary detention” for nearly four years.

Terming the incarceration as extremely sad, the Anjuman in a statement said that today Mirwaiz has been barred from offering the 192nd consecutive Friday prayer.

Srinagar: Jumma-tul-Vida prayers, marking the last Friday of Ramzan, were offered across Kashmir including at the historic Jamia Masjid here with religious fervour, officials said.
