Afro-soul singer and songwriter Ikhona Pahlane Zwide, 29, who has been pursuing a music career for more than a decade, is set to release her debut album, Iyana, on June 18. It has been tough but her passion and tenacity saw her releasing three singles, to warm applause from fans. The Walter Sisulu University journalism graduate, who writes her own songs in isiXhosa and English, started her professional music career in 2011 by performing at local events in Buffalo City, Mthatha and Johanes.
